Material is central to every CLAN object. We describe it precisely so you can choose according to touch, grain and the way it will age.
Calfskin
Smooth and versatile, calfskin offers a refined hand and develops character through use. It is suited to clean, slim constructions.
Crocodile-embossed calfskin
Calfskin can be embossed to create a more regular, graphic grain. It is distinct from genuine crocodilian leather and is always identified as embossed calfskin.
Lizard
Genuine lizard leather has a fine, recognisable scale pattern. Natural differences in scale and colour make every finished panel individual.
Alligator
Genuine alligator is selected for its distinctive scale structure and depth of colour. Pattern variation is natural and makes each piece unique.
Care
Keep leather away from prolonged heat, moisture, cosmetics and abrasive surfaces. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For specific care or repair advice, contact CLAN before applying products to the leather.

Every CLAN piece begins with the surface. Grain, scale, softness and finish are considered alongside colour and form. Natural markings are part of the material’s identity, never a defect.

Care
Remove dust with a clean, soft and dry cloth. Blot water immediately without rubbing. Keep away from direct heat, prolonged sunlight, alcohol and generic leather creams.

Care
Wipe very lightly in the direction of the scales with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid friction, pressure and moisture, which can affect the fine raised edges of the surface.

Care
Clean with a soft dry cloth, or a barely damp cloth when necessary. Do not use solvents or abrasive products, and allow the surface to dry naturally away from heat.

Dust with a soft cloth and blot liquids promptly. Avoid oils, colour-transfer surfaces, household cleaners and direct heat. Store the piece dry and without pressure.
