“Made to order” describes how an object enters production. At CLAN Milano, many pieces are made after an order is placed instead of being produced in large quantities in advance.
Production begins with a specific object
The selected device, material and colour define the piece to be made. Leather is assessed for the construction, then the parts move through preparation, assembly, lining and edge finishing.
Natural materials are not identical
Calfskin, lizard and alligator have natural grain and tonal variation. Made-to-order production allows the material to be considered for the individual object. These differences are part of the character of real leather, not a printed repetition.
Demand and production stay connected
Producing against real orders supports a more considered use of materials and avoids treating every colour and model as anonymous inventory. It also keeps the relationship between the customer’s selection and the finished object direct.
Timing
Preparation time depends on the product and current production schedule. The information presented during checkout applies to the order and destination. If a piece requires a different schedule, CLAN will contact the customer using the order details.
